SHORT RETREAT: VENERABLE PAISAL VISALO
Phra Paisal, one of the most respected and accomplished Theravadan monks and Buddhist scholars in Thailand will be leading a Short Retreat from November 3rd to 6th, 2017. He is the Abbot of Wat Pa Sukato forest monastery. Phra Paisal took robes in 1983 and has been a strong advocate of non-violence, peace, ecology, meditation and human rights. He is also the co-founder and driving force behind Sekhiyadham, an organisation that drives community development in Thailand. read more.

 

THE VANA SCHOOL
Each day of the Vana School is thoughtfully laid out in a structured itinerary. Specially curated activities with elements of fun and learning, practical daily life skills, developing respect and gratitude for nature, understanding traditional wisdom, and lifestyle guidance from Indian and Western cultures will be included. It is essential for the young Vanavasis to participate in all activities. Our aspiration is that children should become curious, learn and acquire beneficial skills through the Vana School, that will help them live a better life. read more.

 

VANAVĀS WITH DZONGSAR JAMYANG KHYENTSE RINPOCHE
In this era and all those that have been, it is a rare occurrence and privilege to encounter a being like Khyentse Rinpoche. A sublime teacher, ‘true’ friend, prolific artist and writer, silent patron and provocative vanguardista, Rinpoche truly seems to transcend the boundaries of space, time and energy. RETREAT RESIDENCY: VENERABLE GESHE DORJI DAMDUL
Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul, a distinguished Buddhist scholar and academic in Tibetan Buddhism, was in residence from December 28th, 2016 to January 3rd, 2017. Geshe La guided a spiritually uplifting retreat, on Shamatha and Special Insight Meditation packed with intelligence and wit. read more.

 

RETREAT RESIDENCY: DR MYUNG SOO KIM
Dr Myung Soo Kim, a veteran Qi gong master and Tai chi practitioner from Korea, was in residence from November 14th to December 4th, 2016 to benefit our Vanavasis and Team with his decades of experience in treating many health conditions and restoring personal wellbeing. His sessions, when integrated with the other modalities during a Vanavasi’s retreat, brought out significant improvement in his/her overall wellbeing especially pertaining to energy and mindful awareness.

 

RETREAT RESIDENCY: ANDREW WHITLEY AT VANA
Andrew Whitley, a leading organic baker in the UK, was in residence at Vana from February 17th - 26th, 2015. We look forward to having him back at the Retreat soon. Please stay tuned for more information.

INDIAN VISA
e-Tourist Visas for India: The Indian Government recently introduced the e-Tourist Visa for certain countries including UK, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, USA, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Singapore. We recommend that guests apply for their electronic tourist visa at least 2 weeks prior to their date of travel. read more.
